Resincoat Food Safe Kitchen Floor Paint

Our Food Safe Kitchen Floor Paint has been designed with the user in mind, giving you a restaurant standard finish that is easy to apply. The coating contains an antibacterial and antimicrobial agent which boasts a ≥70% kill rate of unwanted germs and bacteria. This has been rigourously tested to ISO 22196 standards ensuring maximum effectiveness years after the initial coating has been applied. The formula is also available as an anti-slip coating which meets and in many cases exceeds the guidelines set out by the Health & Safety Executive in the UK.

Application Guide

Before applying our Food Safe Floor Paint ensure that old paint finishes are removed if flaking at all and if well bonded, abraded to create a key prior to applying the paint. Preparing the floor mechanically (shot blasting or grinding) is always advisable but if that is not possible our Etch and Clean is a good alternative.

Once prepared properly, ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from contamination. Mix both paint components thoroughly until homogeneous. Pour out and apply with rollers and brushes within 20 minute pot life. If you are using an anti-slip option, thoroughly mix Part A before adding Part B. Allow your anti slip paint to cure before applying a second coat if required. Consider use of appropriate primer based on the condition and age of your starting surface.  Please note for 2 coats you will require 2 epoxy rollers.

PLEASE NOTE: The pot life of this product is 20 minutes. This means the paint will start to chemically cure after this time. Ensure you remove the paint from the tin in this window. The paint will then be workable on your floor for 40 minutes. 

Choosing the correct primer and tools will allow you to achieve the best finish. Our suggestions are:

1. Resincoat Damp Tolerant Primer for new concrete.
2. Resincoat Deep Penetrating Primer for dusty Floors.
3. Resincoat Epoxy Primer for weak concrete floors.
4. Resincoat Oil Tolerant Primer if oil residue is present in the concrete floor.

• This product is NOT UV stable therefore will discolour when exposed to sunlight. Please coat with a coloured UVR coating such as Resincoat Chemical Resistant UVR Floor Coating for a UV stable finish.
• This product can NOT be split. Taking smaller quantities from each tin, even if measured correctly, may cause issues with activating. The resin formula is chemically manufactured to work efficiently and effectively based on the exact amounts supplied in full tins for parts A & B
• This product is NOT self levelling

• The key factors for product adhesion are:
  • Surface Laitance removal
  • Compressive Strength > 25N/mm2
  • Relative Humidity of <85% for 1 coat or <90% for 2 coats of Damp Tolerant Primer
  • Effective DPM underneath the main slab
