DESCRIPTION

Resincoat Etch and Clean is the premier cleaning formula for preparing and cleaning concrete before applying epoxy paints or resurfacing products. The formula will change colour to indicate neutralisation allowing you to maximise the bond between your floor and paint products. Etch and Clean is ideal for preparing new floors, removing all laitance and providing a great foundation for other products.

 

COVERAGE RATES

A 5 Litre container should cover 15-20m² if applied correctly. Guarantees of this, however, cannot be given due to varying porosity of different surfaces.

 

APPLICATION GUIDE

Preparation and Application

1. Decant product in to a watering can or similar and apply evenly to your surface in a circular motion.

2. The etcher will froth as it hits the surface, this is the acid base reacting with the alkaline and helping to remove any contaminants, keying your surface in the process.

3. Scrub the surface with a stiff broom. If you have a large area you may require a scrubbing machine.

4. When the frothing stops, clean your surface thoroughly with water.

5. Leave surface to completely dry before coating with any Resincoat product.

 

USEFUL INFORMATION

• Please note: If the Etch and Clean does not begin frothing when it meets the concrete, this may mean the surface is sealed and would need to be lightly abraded to create a key. If you have a smooth concrete and finding the Etch and Clean is not frothing, the suggests the etcher may not be able to penetrate.

• IMPORTANT: Etch and Clean is a hydrochloric acid and, as such, would make any soil it comes into contact with acidic. Not all plants thrive in an acidic environment.

• IMPORTANT: Due to regulations around shipping hazardous materials, we are unable to ship Etch & Clean to postcodes outside of UK mainland.

Product review

For the cost of this I had high hopes to coat the floor of my single garage, but I found the tin barely covered an area of 4m square if that..
After this disappointment I drove to B&Q and bought 25ltrs of floor paint, which I should have done in the first place.. I feel I have wasted a log of money on this product unfortunately.

Highly effective

This was a life saver! The sales team told me in order to prepare our surface (new concrete) we had to remove laitance, after searching for a grinder we decided this wasn't going to be viable so used this product instead. We followed the instructions carefully & it worked a treat! We then used Resincoat primer + epoxy floor coating & our new MOT centre is looking great.
