DESCRIPTION

Resincoat Resicove epoxy coving mortar is easy to apply and can be feather-edged for a professional finish. The formula has a natural grey concrete appearance curing to an incredibly high strength for guaranteed durability. The formula boasts excellent chemical resistance as standard resisting most dilute acids, alkalis, oils and petrol. All our epoxy resin products are proudly manufactured in the UK for guaranteed quality and performance.

 

COVERAGE RATES

At a radius of 50mm, a 16.9kg unit will produce up to 16.5 linear metres.

Please note: if working with Resincoat Tack Coat as a base, a 50mm radius coat using 1kg of Tack Coat will produce up to 5 linear metres.

 

APPLICATION GUIDE

Preparation

Before use of Resicove Polyurethane Coving Mortar we recommend that any hole or defected concrete should be thoroughly cleaned using a wire brush and vacuumed to remove any remaining dust or dirt. Whatever condition the substrate, we recommend the use of Resincoat Tack Coat. This will seal the surface and ensure a good bond to the subsequent coving. 

 

Application

We advise when applying this product the ambient temperature sits between 5°C and 25°C.

1. Mix Part A on its own with a mixing paddle, attached to an electric drill on a slow setting, for about 2 minute. Once mixed, add ALL of Part B and continue to mix for another 2 minutes. Gradually mix in Part C for 3 minutes until the desired consistency is achieved.

2. The mixed unit must be applied immediately, using a 2" Coving Trowel to shape and compact the mortar into place along the wall.

3. For a perfect, smooth finish regularly wipe the trowel with a cloth dampened with white spirit as you apply. 

4. The formula may be applied at 5-50mm thickness and can be feather edged at 5mm. 

5. Once applied protect from weather and leave to cure for 24 hours at 10°C.

 

PLEASE NOTE: The pot life of this product is 30 minutes. This means that once parts have been mixed, the paint will start to chemically cure after this time. Ensure you remove the paint from the tin in this window. The paint will then be workable on your floor for up to 40 minutes. 

Pot life = Time to harden in pot following addition of hardener

Working Time = Time to apply product before it becomes unworkable

• This product should NOT be split. Taking smaller quantities from each tin, even if measured correctly, may cause issues with activating.
